Is This The End?
April 28, 2021In the past weeks, blogging became secondary to me. There was simply too much going on and I wanted to make sure I am in the moment, truly seeing, exploring, and feeling all of the spaces that I was in. So where have I been in the past few weeks?
MARSEILLE - THE CITY OF CONTRAST
I distinctly remember what I said upon arrival “I could never live here…”. Two days later I was enamored with this place, discovering beautiful hiking spots and getting lost in the lagoons. The unique thing about Marseille is that you have a national park within a walking distance and in a matter of a few minutes, you can be in the midst of an absolute wilderness.
Nature was defo my favorite part but I also got a fantastic host, and we managed to squeeze an illegal photoshoot in.
ST TROPEZ
Saint Tropez was one of the places that I was simply curious about. It was on my route to St Maxime, and so I decided to stop there for a bit. I saw it in a different way than most tourists, though. The place was a ghost town, with barely anyone around. Without all the fancy cars and boats, St Tropez was still beautiful but the glam so many rich people get attracted to was simply not there. All the better for me :)
LA SPEZIA
I’ve heard so much about Cinque Terre National Park that I simply couldn’t miss it. I had a fabulous host who explained to me where I should go and during over 6 h of hiking I saw 5 people there! I was all by myself, walking among the beautiful vineyards, stunning mountain ranges, and breathtaking little villages. It is a must-see for anyone who’s ever around La Spezia.
SECOND SPRING
The last part of my trip included going down a mountain. In the morning, I woke up with frost on my tent, but as I proceeded towards my final destination, nature transformed leaving me in complete awe. The sun was up, the birds were singing, and the blue sky was not disturbed with but a single cloud.
RERO
And so on Saturday afternoon, April 24thI made it! I’ve arrived at my sister’s house in northern Italy. My nephew came out to see me on his bike, putting the biggest smile on my face, and my sister thought of taking a picture. And now, I am resting.
But am I done?
