Getting Ready to Leave

All Things Come To An End

For the past 10 months, I have been restlessly photographing, journaling, and of course, pursuing personal projects, the biggest one being the Book

In the past 5 weeks, I have been putting all of my time and effort into polishing the sample chapters and creating a book proposal but now that it’s almost done … well, I am beginning to think about getting back on the road.

What Book?

I haven’t been talking about it too much, but I am in the process of writing a novel. Inspired by the trip, I decided to create a body of work that’s loosely based on my personal life, and publish it in a form of a story that has magical elements to it. I am learning about writing as I go, and for now, I’ve only completed the beginning of it, but I feel like I’m on to something.

Opening

Fluorescent light irritated my eyes as I woke up in an unfamiliar white room, with a woman wearing a soft blue scrub leaning over me.

‘Can you hear me? My name is Sandra. Please try not to move. Do you know what happened?’

I tried asking her who she was but failed to convert sounds into words.

‘You’re in a hospital. You had an accident,’ she continued.

My thoughts were blurry and I couldn’t focus on what she was saying. It took me a while before I understood what happened.

But let me tell you the beginning of this story.

What do you think? Leave your thoughts in the comments :)

When Will I Ride Again?

I haven’t made a final decision, but as of right now the plan is to head out on the 8th and make my way to Sicily. I plan to rely more on camping, and just being out in nature, getting nice and dirty, and being ALL ALONE.

I want to become more independent and really tune in with myself as much as I can.

What Am I Leaving Behind?

Among the things I will be missing most will certainly be Family Time. One of my favorite things was Sunday trips where I got to see stunning places and, for once, travel with someone else by my side.

The quality time with da G.O.A.T is also an obvious one.

And of course, hanging out with my nephew and taking pictures of him.

Either way, I always know when the right time comes. I also know that even though I will be sad to leave, the future holds so much more for me, and I am ready to explore it.
