No More Traveling
August 29, 2021NO GREECE?
Even though from the very beginning of the trip my plan was to cross from Bari (or Brindisi) to Greece, I have decided to go back north as I couldn’t arrange for the pet passport for Fryderyk… The decision has been made and I ended up coming back to my sister’s house - the second round during this trip. The annoyance of adapting my plan was quickly replaced by the excitement of seeing my family. I have covered 1111 kilometers (690 miles) in 12 days and just like that went from the deep south to the north of Italy. I have not gone so far in such a short period of time EVER, and it is clear that there is something that truly motivates me to go home…
I WAS SH0CKED!
I knew the weather was going to change fast once I get to the north but holy fucking shit, I did not expect the summer to go so freaking fast! It was almost as if I crossed some invisible line and went from Summer to Fall, just like that. It was just a few days ago that I would find myself looking for a shade in the middle of the day, strip naked, and hope it won’t be too hot so that I could take a nap. This is definitely a thing of the past as the rain is POURING DOWN thick and often, making it EXTREMELY challenging to keep camping and travel with a happy cat…
JUST A FEW DAYS WITH THE FAM
One of the reasons why I was really trying to make it back to Rero was because my sister was going on vacation. I wanted to make sure we had a few days together but today, everyone left and the house feels awfully empty… It was well worth it to come down and see them again, but I am now acutely aware of the emptiness around… I am very glad to have Fryderyk :)
WHAT’S THE PLAN?
I have adjusted the route and it looks like I will be going through Slovenia, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, and then off to Poland. See the maps.me suggestion below.
SO THE TRAVELLING IS OVER?
I am done with the travelling for now - what do I mean by this? Well, I think it is pretty clear that at this point, my goal is to get back home and do it as fast as I can.
This journey has been nothing short of life alternating but I know that it is coming to an end now. I will not stay in places and plan to cycle every day. Except for Bratislava and Oświęcim, where I want to spend 2 and one extra day respectively, I will go right back to Skórcz (Poland), where I will stay for at least a couple of months.
I put a cute shot of Fryderyk as I let you go. Until next stop :)
